Poster Prize Awards

 
 
 
  Prizes for the best posters will be awarded to the winners prior the closing ceremony, which will be held in the Cavaniglia pavilion on Tuesday, 30 August.

Presenting authors who intend to put forward their contribution for the poster prizes awarded by CCDC, IUCr, Molecular Dimension Ltd and Oxford Cryosystems, must register and collect a coloured label to be sticked onto their poster at the exhibition stand of the company. Nominations must be presented no later than 18.30 of the day prior to the scheduled poster session. After August 27, when the exhibition closes, presenting authors must refer to the Registration Desk except for the IUCr category whose stand will be open until the end of the congress.

The sponsors of the prizes are the following:

CCDC
Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre will be awarding three poster prizes each comprising a commemorative item and a monetary prize of 350 USD. Candidates should not be more than 35 years of age on the January 1, 2005.

Posters should report original research in:

* Chemical crystallography, including advances in instrumental, experimental or computational techniques

* Applications of small-molecule crystallographic information in, e.g., structural chemistry, molecular modelling, materials design, structural biology or chemical informatics.

IUCr
The IUCr will be awarding a prize to the best poster from a student in each of the three IUCr regions (ACA, AsCA and ECA). The prizes will consist of complimentary online access to all IUCr journals for one year or a complimentary volume of International Tables or other IUCr publication. Those wishing their poster to be considered for a prize should collect a sticker from the IUCr Exhibition Stand.

Molecular Dimensions
Molecular Dimensions Ltd. will be awarding a monetary prize of GBP 250 and a certificate for one poster within the subject of Protein Crystal Growth. The posters will be judged by an independent panel of judges selected by the meeting chair. The prize will be awarded based on contribution to the understanding of protein crystal growth, and presentation.


Oxford Cryosystems
The Oxford Cryosystems Low Temperature Prize is awarded to any poster describing applications of or developments in low temperature crystallography. The posters will be judged by an independent panel of judges selected by the meeting chair. The prize Oxford Cryosystem would offer is a certificate and GBP 500 cash prize.

RCSB PDB
The RCSB PDB Poster Prize is awarded for the best student poster presentation. The awards for winners will consist of two educational books that will be mailed to the winner after the meeting.
